A Man from Ukraine has changed his name to iPhone Sim (Sim means 7 in Ukraine) so as to win a contest held by a local electronics store which offered a free iPhone 7 to anyone (up to 5 customers only) who changed his/her name to iPhone and this person actually did.
Believe it or not, whether Android Smartphones get way too far in specifications and innovation from Apple devices, the hype to get one of the iPhone never dies. People do random things just to get hold of one and sometimes these things go limitless. We have already seen people selling their kidneys to get hold of one but now a man from Ukraine has gone a step ahead to win an iPhone 7 in a contest.
The contest was held by a local electronics store which offered a free iPhone 7 to anyone (up to 5 customers only) who changed his/her name to iPhone and this person actually did!
And to prove that, he even has a passport as a proof to it!!!!
Olexander Turin who is a 20-year-old Ukrainian man changed his name without hesitation. Actually, the device there in Ukraine costs around Rs 57,000 whereas changing your name legally costs something equivalent to Rs 120. So, changing the name was obviously the best investment at that time.
The guy is now known as iPhone Sim. In Ukrainian language Sim stands for 7.
According to the local news sources, Sim’s friends and family were shocked by this move off him. However, eventually they supported him without any hassle.
His sister, Tetyana when asked stated that “It was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it’s true. Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?”
When asked to Olexander himself about his future aspects about continuing this name so he stated that he would be changing it real soon as soon as he thinks of starting his family.
And that’s true too; even I wouldn’t want myself to be called as Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, though.
