The CIA is in news nowadays for being planning a big retaliatory cyber attack against Russia. This attack is being said to be a counter attack over the nation’s involvement in the recent data breach leaks and hacks on the Democratic National Committee.
According to a report by NBC News Network, CIA is in plans to do a major counter attack over Russia. The reason of this attack is assumed to be near to the other nation’s participation in the recent data hacks and breach that caused a lot of loss to US government. The data breach happened on the Democratic National Committee that is being said to be done by Russian Hackers.
According to NBC News Network the CIA is readily preparing for an operation “designed to harass and ‘embarrass’”. According to the news network the CIA has “reams of documents that could expose [Putin’s] unsavory tactics.”
Last week this month, James R. Clapper who is the Director of National Intelligence issued a statement that clearly pointed towards Russia’s attempt of interference in the 2016 presidential elections.
According to James R. Clapper the leaks are “consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process.”
And from the news it is clear that Russia’s “suspected” involvement in the presidential elections has prompted new action calls for the elections that are going to be held in November 2016.
Although when Vlamdir Putin heard about all this then he just tagged all this as a “political ploy”.
NBC talked to two former intelligence officers and they stated, “there is a long history of the White House asking the CIA to come up with options for covert action against Russia, including cyber options — only to abandon the idea.”
We don’t know if all this would happen for real or not but all this has cut out Obama’s administration into two parts. One believe that Russia must be given an answer in the same way while the other part believes that future aspects of the same could be devastating.
