Facebook had launched an event app for iPhone users which lets users plan outing with their friends locally as the application is made to list local events and listing within the app. The app is soon to come for Android users as developers are working on it. The events made over the Facebook Events app can be shared over the social networking sites to connect more of friends with the listing.
On Friday this week, Social Media giant Facebook announced its new application that is tailored to help you find local listings around you, so that you can go there and enjoy with your friends. At present the application has been made available to Iphone users only and there’s a coming soon notification available to the Android users. According to sources the developers are working on the Android version so it won’t be late for the latter part to enjoy this application on their devices.
Facebook Events is a stand-alone application and won’t be needing Facebook sign in until you want to share your local listing with your online friends. The new events app lets people share plans for concerts, poetry slams, plays or other types of are events that are listen in their region and are interested in going in there.
Aditya Koolwal, The Product Manager at Facebook stated, “When you open Events, you can quickly catch up on new events your friends are interested in, recently-announced events by the Pages you like, and updates from events you’re already connected to”.
The main idea behind launching this application was because Facebook was having around 100 million users using the Events section daily on the social networking site.
For more in depth and “related” events notification the users would be needed to sign in the app and the app would list local events according to the “interests” listed in the users’ profile so as to provide much personal experience and remove unwanted site listings.
