We all know that paying Toll Tax is our duty being a citizen of this country and we should respect it, but the problem comes in when we are out of cash or the person collecting Toll Tax gives us some kind of candy in return of the remaining money because of his statement of not having “change”. This is really annoying and all of us might have faced this problem and this is a fact that you won’t even love to have that “overpriced” candy you just got for the change. To overcome all these problems, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has recently partnered with Paytm to enable cashless transaction on highway tolls pan India.
As we all know Paytm is a digital currency provider which was initially launched as a digital recharge platform but now it has expanded this much that even they are planning to launch their own bank in coming period. Also recently, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) also partnered with Paytm to use their payment gateway in IRCTC’s official website as well as application to provide fast and hassle free transactions to their users.
Paytm FASTag Lets you Pay Toll Tax Online
Coming on the topic, this new service by NHAI would be named as “Paytm FASTag” and what is new with this new service is that you won’t even have to stop at tolls to pay the cash, collect the receipt or anything similar, you just need to drive away your car and your toll would be paid.
How Paytm FASTag Would Pay My Toll, Without Even Me Stopping By?
The answer to this question is very simple, you just need to get a Paytm FASTag placed on your car which will be integrated with your Paytm wallet and while passing by through the toll, the toll will scan your car’s tag and payment would be deducted from your Paytm wallet automatically.
Paytm FASTag uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to make these cashless payments possible.
Also the company plans to collect 1800 Crores worth of toll this year through this service. At present this service is present at 350 toll plazas across India and will expand with time.
Let’s end the article with Paytm’s Sr. Vice President, Kiran Vasireddy’s statement “Cash slows down traffic at important toll plazas as attendants and motorists are left grappling with the hassles of dealing in loose change. The roll-out of Paytm-enabled FASTag will come as a relief to both commuters and toll plaza attendants and help towards the national cause of saving fuel.”
The way our government is working hard to make everything digital is really appreciable. This new move will really save a lot of fuel hence benefitting the Environment first and also some other factors will be benefitted.
