Social networking giant, Facebook yesterday declared millions of users “officially” dead over their profile and that list included even Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the firm. According to Facebook Spokesman the problem is fixed for now and this type of silly mistakes won’t be occurring in the future.
A terrible mistake of Facebook shook many people yesterday, leaving many of them in tears. According to a report, yesterday Social Networking website Facebook has declared millions of users dead and marked their accounts as “Memorable Accounts” which are meant for dead users and to my shock that list included firm’s CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg too.
When people saw accounts of their loved ones marked as dead they went really furious and reported over Twitter about the matter, mocking Facebook intrusively. The message that appeared over some of the “affected” ones’ profile read as, “We hope people who love “XYZ” will find comfort in the things of ……”
A company spokesman stated on the matter, he stated, “For a brief period today, a message meant for memorialized profiles was mistakenly posted to other accounts. This was a terrible error that we have now fixed.”
Search Engine Lander Editor Danny Sullivan mocked the Social Network over Twitter about his “Online Death” by stating, “Damn. I should have used Facebook Live to show how I was Facebook Dead.”
Not only Danny, but majority of Facebook’s user base went totally aggressive over the social network over micro blogging site Twitter expressing their anger by mocking the website down.
According to media reports around two million people were affected of this thing and had memorial posted over their profile page. Later on the social network apologized on their end but this seriously was a blunder mistake which could have gone wrong for many families if stretched for longer duration.
