In the race of converting cash into digitized money domestic handset maker Intex has also leaped in. For this to happen, the company partnered with mRUPEE, a Tata Teleservices subsidiary. The wallet is said to be similar to other wallet services present in India like Paytm and Freecharge.
According to a recent report Intex has launched its very own wallet service named as MyWallet which is said to be offering easy and hassle free integrated payment functionalities without the need of going to any third party physically as all the problems’ solutions related to your mobile recharges, money transfers, shopping, booking public transport, movie tickets and more would be available on your mobile.
Vineet Singh who is the Head VAS at Intex Technologies stated, “This is in line with our focus to offer the customers additional value which is being created right from video, gaming, healthcare, utility, entertainment, e-commerce/mobile advertisement, all packed in their handsets at customers’ fingertips,”
For this to happen Intex partnered with mRUPEE, a Tata Teleservices subsidiary which is already functioning as a mobile payment solution but is not popular among masses. Intex has a big rivalry with Micromax and this is also being speculated as the reason of launching their own wallet service as Micromax’s also having their own wallet service namely “Udio” which is powered by TranServ and Visa.
A twist here with the wallet service offered by Intex is that with this service there would be also some physical “while labeled portals” where Intex retailers would be able to offer retail-assisted services for recharges, bill payments, utilities, and money transfer respectively.
There is also going to be a loyalty service launched for MyWallet users which would allow them to earn loyalty points for using some services which can be redeemed later for recharges, bill payments, movie tickets and more.
It would be amazing to see how Intex is going to perform in the mobile wallet platform as when talking about other platforms Intex’s not performing well.
