Popular instant messaging platform application, Hike has reportedly come in news or for releasing video calling feature to its messaging application. The main reason behind coming in news is that Hike released its video calling feature update just a day after WhatsApp announced its beta release with the same feature.
The Popular instant messaging platform, Hike has updated its messaging application with a feature that was demanded from long period of time. According to a report, the new Hike update will feature the new “Video Calling” option in the messaging application. Hike messenger is a “Made In India” messaging application from Bharti Airtel. The app is now 3 years old and is the biggest competitor of popular messaging application WhatsApp.
Keeping the “competitive” spirit alive, Hike has announced to release this new update just the day after WhatsApp’s announcement of releasing the “same” feature for its beta program users. The Video Calling feature is only available to Beta Programme users of WhatsApp and still under testing phase which means it will take time to reach the doorsteps of all the stable app users.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Hike released the same video calling update for all of its users which is now available for download on the respective App Store of Android users, iOS users still need to wait for the same but “it won’t take much time” Hike promises.
The following steps needs to be followed in order to avail the Video calling feature on the app:
- Download Hike Messenger, if you don’t have it OR update the same if you haven’t did since September (Application updated this month i.e. October 2016 would be seeing this new feature now).
- Select the chat thread of a friend you want to connect with.
- Tap on the call button on the top right that prompts you to further select Voice or Video
- Start Your Conversation!!!
What’s special is that this feature works on 2G too as per the company, so all those who are still on slower networks, don’t be sad Hike’s got you covered too!
Just like Google Duo, this new feature will also give you a “live preview” of the caller before you answer the call.
