Yesterday we saw the introduction of Google Inc’s new lineup, “Pixel Smartphones”. Although this lineup is quite old when it comes to tablet pc but here we are referring to Smartphones only. The Smartphones that were announced were the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL respectively. Both the smartphones are very powerful no doubt as they come with the fastest ever Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, have bright OLED displays, a lot of storage as well as 4GB of RAM that makes multitasking as smooth as butter. Also these both Smartphones also carry a 3.5mm jack, thankfully.
But there’s one thing that Google missed in these flagship devices which is not acceptable and can’t be swallowed easily.
Water Resistance? A Big NO
The biggest flagships of 2016, the Apple iphone 7 as well as the Galaxy Note 7 (Keeping aside the blast issues) both come up with the ability to beat water splashes at different levels that are commendable, but when we look at both the Pixel devices we get to see that even a single drop of these devices in a water resource can destroy them completely as they don’t carry something as simple as water résistance.
This is not a small thing to accept considering the big amount you need to pay to get your hands over these devices and the sales of these Smartphones can go down just because of this issue as at the same price we are having better alternatives keeping aside the mighty Snapdragon processor and direct backing from Google.
Even cheap devices from Lenovo’s Moto segment are water resistant to some level as they get a nano covering on their motherboard as well as chipset to prevent them from getting damaged by small splashes of water but here in Pixel Smartphone you are not even getting that!
We don’t know what Google had done to “protect” the Smartphone from water but there’s nothing like water resistance ability mentioned by them in their specs chart for the same.
