Apple Music that was launched last year is already able to gain around 17 million subscribers. Now, the company plans to reduce its plan subscription rates up to 20 percent so as to compete with prominent players of the same field namely, Spotify and Amazon Music.
Online Music Streaming services have always been a big hit as you can get an option to listen to your favorite songs without even downloading them, which saves a lot of disk space and those users who have no expansion possibility provided by their mobile brand (including me) these services are a boon. Now for all the iPhone users here comes a good news, Apple is expected to offer a price cut in its premium online music streaming service, Apple Music that can be around 20 percent so as to compete with prominent players of the same field namely, Spotify and Amazon Music.
Twenty percent discount means a lot. Let me show you some math on it. A 20 percent discount on all the packs would mean that the single subscription plan would be slashed down from $9.99 (around Rs 660 per month) to $7.99 (around Rs 527 per month).
The family package, which allows for up to six members with a discount of 20 percent would become around $12.99 (Rs 860 approx per month) from $14.99 (Rs 990 approx per month).
The $4.99 (Rs 330 approx per month) student plan here won’t be getting any discount sadly. There are no leaks of getting this price cut worldwide so I can’t comment over that but one thing is sure that India will not get the price cut even if Apple seem to introduce this discount here.
The reasons for this is that we here at India are already having the cheapest plans by Apple Music.
Here we have no student plan but the single user plan is priced at just Rs 120 per month and the family plan is available at Rs 190 per month which is near to nothing for 6 members together.
Now that you’ve seen the math of the 20 percent discount, don’t you think that the new prices would seriously be a savage for sure?
