Vodafone India today announced in a report that it has today reached a massive number of 200 million of customers in India. Now, Vodafone Group is also the largest ever telecom group with an equity infusion of over 47,700 Crores.
On the celebration ceremony the MD & CEO, Vodafone India Mr. Sunil Sood stated, “We are thankful to our customers for choosing Vodafone and delighted with the faith and support that our investors have shown in our business and India. With our commitment to support the Digital India vision, we are building one of the most modern and scalable telecom networks to deliver connectivity and the Vodafone SuperNet experience to all, for both voice and data. We are judiciously deploying a portfolio of technologies- 2G, 3G, 4G and IOT – to cater to the myriad connectivity needs of our retail and enterprise customers across the country. We have successfully increased our revenue market share by 0.6 percent in the first quarter of current fiscal. This equity infusion of INR 47,700 crore, which we believe is the largest ever in India, will enable Vodafone India to continue its investments in spectrum and expansion of networks across various technology layers delivering the best of experience to our hundreds of million customers.”
In India only Vodafone stands at second number when it comes to being the top telecom provider with the market share of around 22.5 percent. Mr. Sonu Sood, MD & CEO of Vodafone India also stated that their users stand in three categories namely, first one which uses their network only for calls, these users have covered 30 percent of total user base, second category is the category of users who prefer only 2G network and voice as well for carrying their network with them and cover around 40 percent. The third category is that category which is categorized as the “premium cater” by Vodafone Idea. This category uses 3G/4G along with other premium services also including voice calls and text in it and cover around 30 percent making it a 100 percent total user base.
Out of this 30 percent of “premium cater” 7-8 percent are those who alone consumes only 4G services.
According to the company they are a premium leader globally for their 4G services and Internet of Things (IoT) and would be giving a lot to India in coming years.
