Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, suffered a cardiac arrest during the evening, yesterday. She was already admitted at the Apollo hospital at Chennai. Her condition is critical after suffering a cardiac arrest. Jayalalithaa has been monitored closely by an expert team of doctors. She has been undergoing treatment for more than two months at the hospital.
Jayalalithaa is on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation through a heart assist device, after the cardiac arrest.
Apollo hospital’s doctors are trying their best to help Jayalalithaa survive this attack.
Many Police and CRPF personnel have been deployed at Chennai and across the Tamilnadu state. Authorities are fearing some chaos type situations. Schools have been closed at Chennai.
A Huge number of AIADMK supporters and Amma lovers are at Apollo hospital. There is unprecedented security at the hospital. Party supporters are praying for her recovery.
State DGP T K Rajendran said that “All police personal should report in full uniform with their vehicles for law and order bandobust duty until further orders.”
Last night, the Apollo hospital announced a sudden deterioration in Jayalalithaa’s health. A sudden announcement after the hospital said that she was recovering well. Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Hospitals Dr Subbaiah Viswanathan said that “She is being treated and monitored by a team of experts, including cardiologists, pulmonologists and critical care specialists”
Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration. Het treatment for infection and respiratory problem was declared successful.
The Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who is also the Governor of Maharashtra, air-dashed from Mumbai to Chennai. He also visited Apollo Hospital last night.
