Top 10 Most Powerful People In The World list has been topped by Russian Premier Vladimir Putin and US President-elect came in second.
Forbes also said that “Russia’s president has exerted his country’s influence in nearly every corner of the globe. From the motherland to Syria to the US presidential elections, Putin also continues to get what he wants. He is unconstrained by conventional global norms (and) his reach has magnified in recent years.”
Forbes also said that Donald Trump “has a seeming immunity to scandal, both houses of Congress on his side, and a personal net worth in the billions.”
It is worth noting the Donald Trump was at 72nd position in Forbes 2015 ranking.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel was at number 3 in the list. Merkel recently announced her plans to run for German office again. She has been leading Germany for almost 11 years now.
Chinese premier Xi Jinping came at fourth place in the list.
The magazine said that “There are nearly 7.4 billion humans on planet Earth, but these 74 men and women make the world turn.”
The Forbes’ annual ranking of the World’s Most Powerful People identifies one person out of every 100 million whose actions mean the most.
Forbes said that “it assesses the influence of hundreds of candidates from various walks of life all around the globe.This year the list has 74 powerful movers and shakers on it.”
