It had confirmed by the NASA spokesperson that the SpaceX Rocket exploded when the officials were preparing it for the fire tests on its launch pad at Cape Canaveral in Florida. This rocket was going to be used this weekend for the launch of a satellite. As per the official tweet from SpaceX, “ SpaceX can confirm that in preparation for today’s standard pre-launch static fire test, there was an anomaly on the pad resulting in the loss of the vehicle and its payload. Per standard procedure, the pad was clear, and there were no injuries.”
This rocket was being prepared for the launch of Amos 6 Satellite that was going to be a communication probe to Spacecom which is an Israeli satellite operator. The fire test that was conducted in the morning was a process of the regular tests were to be performed before the launch of any satellite.
Although this has caused massive losses, a spokesperson for the US Air Force stated that no casualties happened at the launch site, and this explosion would not create any threat to the safety and wellbeing of the people living in nearby areas.
Last year in June, SpaceX had to suffer a major setback as an explosion had occurred in another Falcon 9. However, after this Orbcomm 2 was successfully launched in December. With this fresh explosion, the company would have to give a fresh start to its future launches and rocket landings. It is believed that a situation like this is surely going to cause some constant amount of delays in their future endeavors.
