Today, where everyone is running after getting Reliance Jio services to get appealing data services which are as low as 50 Rs per GB, now BSNL – the Indian PSU is all set to give a tight competition to Reliance as it brings cheaper data services than them. The BSNL claimed to offer the internet services at less than INR 1 per GB. The offer starts from September 9, 2016 in which BSNL offering wireline unlimited broadband costing only INR 249 a month.

The statement issued by BSNL quotes, “BSNL is going to launch a very cost-effective and affordable promotional unlimited Broadband plan Experience Unlimited BB 249 from September 9, 2016.”

Those customers who get BB 249 unlimited plan will be switched to a regular plan of their own choice of broadband after consuming the data services for 6 months. No doubt, it is a great initiative by government PSU; yet we cannot deny with the fact that it has come only when Reliance Jio publicized its attractive offerings and data plans.

BSNL Vs Reliance Jio - Data War

As per Mr. Anupam Shrivastava – the Chairman & MD stated in the statement given to PTI News that the upcoming data plan is aimed to enhance the user experience for wireline broadband solutions and to encourage new users to adopt our services. It looks quite interesting when BSNL claims that in this plan, users are allowed to download up to 300 GB data at just INR 249. With this offering, BSNL claims to become a company providing data at the lowest cost in the country.

On other hand, Mr. Mukesh Ambani – the Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd. claimed to provide the most affordable data to consumers in India. So, once BSNL brings its new data plans which costs nearly Rs 249 a month, it will surely become a powerful competitor to Reliance Jio. Though whichever company leads the competition, the profit comes to consumers side only.
