Abhinav Bindra to lead a committee for reviewing the Indian Shooters

Abhinav Bindra, who stood fourth in the recently happened Men’s 10m Air Rifle Event at Rio Olympic Games 2016 is heading a team to review the poor performance of the Indian Shooters at the Rio games. This team has been proposed by the special committee called as the NRAI (National Rifle Association of India). During the Rio Games, the Indian team appeared as the 12-member team except for Abhinav Bindra and failed in a dramatic way rather than meeting the expectations. Not only leaving the country’s fraternity disappointed, but the performances have also raised certain speculations which are why the review is set.

What made Abhinav Bindra, the head of the review team?

According to an official at Federal office, “NRAI is going to announce the formation of the committee to review the individual and collective performance of the shooting team at the recent Rio Olympics 2016 to fix the liability.” This includes reviewing the much prominent Apurvi Chandela, Gagan Narang, Heena Sidhu, Jitu Rai, Manavjeet Singh Sandhu and any others who previously had made quite achievements but somehow failed to put a commendable show at the Rio, disappointing the whole nation. The NRAI’s committee was aimed to dissect by introspecting the reasons for the failure as they returned naked after fetching medals in the past.

The main reason behind Indian shooters’ poor performance:

Right from the hiring of personal coaches to the selection of the shooters on the base of reputation over non-profits like Lakshya Foundation, Olympics Gold Quest et.al; everything will be reviewed by the committee thoroughly. Regarding the team, Abhinav Bindra will be leading a sophisticated team of Manisha Malhotra (Tennis Champion), Rajiv Bhatia and who few another journalist who are well equipped with this kind of knowledge. Raninder Singh has however taken the blame for the performance by saying that it was his mistake to allow the shooters train with their personal coaches.
