Bajaj Auto has named its 400 cc bike ‘Dominar 400‘ and right now initiated its creation at Chakan plant. Dominar word is dereived from a Spanish word, which means to excel or exceed in power. Bajaj Dominar 400, the long awaited premium cruiser motorcycle from the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto is finally set to be launched in India on 15th December. Bajaj Auto today released the first official teaser image of the bike.
Bajaj Auto President (Motorcycle Business) Eric Vas said, “We are delighted to announce the name of the most anticipated brand from the Bajaj auto stable. Dominar 400 has already created lot of excitement amongst bikers, which is befitting for what’s going to be one of the most path breaking products in the history of the Indian motorcycle industry.”
The first Dominar 400 was rolled out from Chakan Plant on 18th November. Dominar 400 would be above its Pulsar range. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a cruiser-sport motorcycle targeted for the ones who seek power with touring comfort. The model will give tough competition to Royal Enfield Classic 350, Mahindra Mojo, KTM Duke 200 and the likes in the segment. The price of the bike will remain in between 1.6L to 1.8L.
Dominar is the combination of two different words – Dominate and Ar from Bajaj’s most successful motorcycle/bike Pulsar. Bajaj Dominar 400 will share engine with KTM 390 Duke, sourcing power from the same 373.2cc, single cylinder mill.
The engine could get the triple-start innovation and power will be delivered in various tune when contrasted with KTM 390 Duke, confined to around 35bhp. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed unit. In particular, the engine will follow the new BS IV emission standards.
