Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 has both Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the main roles. The movie is a sequel to Enthiran (Robo in Telugu and Robot in Hindi). The movie has been originally shot in Tamil but is now going to be dubbed in Hindi and Telugu. The highly discussed event of the last week in the B-Town was the trailer launch of ‘2.0’ as one glimpse into this amazing feature film raised the bars all around.
The makers of the project, Lyca Productions have confirmed that the movie will be made on an extravagant budget of nearly Rs. 350 Crore. This revelation has led to the fact that this movie is going to be India’s biggest motion picture in terms of lavish budget and will also step over SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ in the budget terms.
A representative from Lyca has said at a recent press conference that they are extremely confident of recovering their investment of Rs. 350 crore, thanks to the grouping of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. Akashay Kumar was brought into the project in place of the terminator fame, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The representative further said that Arnold was really looking forward to work in the same project as he had watched the movie, Enthiran and he had really liked it. However, he couldn’t be a part of the project because of some contractual reasons. Another reason conjectured for the withdraw of Arnold in ‘2.0’ was the fact that he has demanded a very high remuneration of INR 120 crore.
Consequently, the makers roped in Akshay, who is also going to work with the makers in the Hindi remake of AR Murugadoss-directed Tamil blockbuster Kaththi, which has been titled Ikka.
2.0, directed by Shankar, will have Amy Jackson as the only female lead. AR Rahman is the music composer and the visual effects work will be taken care of by Srinivas Mohan, who has earlier worked in Baahubali.
