Yes, you read that right. Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal are worried. As you know, Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal starrer ‘Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh’ will be releasing around the country this Friday on December 2. ‘Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh’ is a sequel to Kahaani, a Vidya Balan starrer flick released in the year 2012. This is the main reason why the audiences are waiting eagerly for the release of ‘Kahaani 2’ as the prequel has been putting forward a good recall value and the promos are also being very well received.
Vidya Balan recently got into a conversation with a news daily where she was asked about the pressure revolving the successful delivering of the sequel since the prequel was a much-loved suspense thriller.
Vidya, very candidly said, “It’s not a sequel, so that takes half the pressure off. If we had come up with the film right after Kahaani, there would have been a lot more pressure. Also, honestly, after Kahaani, all my films haven’t worked (laughs), so, I feel no pressure. We are hoping for the best and I’m not feeling any pressure as of now. Also with non-stop promotions, there’s no time to think.” That’s a brave statement from the actress.
There are not many actors or actresses in the glamour industry who have the guts to acknowledge or accept their flop films. And rightly so after the success of Kahaani, she was seen in Ghanchakkar, Shaadi Ke Side Effect, Bobby Jasoos, Hamari Adhuri Kahani and Te3n. And all five of her films flopped miserably at the box office.
Whether or not she is worried about the whole demonetization thing affecting the box office business of ‘Kahaani 2’, Vidya was seen undisturbed by the same and said, “I think, initially, there was a worry. But we are being positive and hoping that it won’t affect our movie as the situation is looking better. I think people do want to see a film.”
Arjun on the other side, who already has faced the wrath of demonetisation with his last release Rock On!! 2 seemed worried and said, “ I am very scared as I don’t want a repeat of Rock On 2. I was told that everything was under control but I saw a long queue outside an ATM (recently), so I am like, “Are we really under control?”
