Filmmaker Mansoor Khan revealed a secret about his 2000 blockbuster movie Josh that on bringing of two superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in the same film was the tricky thing for him and at last Aamir refuses his project offer.
Mansoor Khan who directed Aamir Khan’s superhit movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak‘ in 1988 still thinks that both the Khans’ Aamir and Shah Rukh were perfect for his 2000 film Josh.
“I still think Aamir and Shah Rukh were the perfect castings for the film. However, Aamir refused to play that role. That’s his choice,” Mansoor said.
He added: “Aamir wanted to change his image also. He no longer wanted to play that lover boy, romantic guy. The second reason is the character Max (played by Shah Rukh) is a very charismatic character. Everybody wanted to play Max.
Mansoor talked about the hit film, which also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Chandrachur Singh. Mansoor told reporters here on the sidelines of Jio MAMI Film Festival last evening.
Shah Rukh and Aamir have not shared screen space yet. The Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak helmer also said he initially wanted Kajol to play Shah Rukh’s sister but the actress rejected the offer. The role then went to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He also shared that even actress Kajol Devgan wanted to play SRK’s character.
“When I met Kajol to play Shah Rukh’s sister she walked away. I asked her if she is doing the film she said I want to play Max. So it was such an enigmatic character,” he added.
