Director: Abhinay Deo
Cast: John Abrahim, Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin
Throughout the whole movie, John Abraham, and his muscle show has been the main focus rather than the narrative intelligence. With this sequel of Force, ACP Yashvardhan (John Abraham) returns in a thrilling action-er where he receives a code by his friend in RAW (Research And Analysis Wing). This marks the beginning of a high-profile case against Shiv Sharma (Tahir Raj Bhasin), a highly motivated criminal in Budapest with Agent KK (Sonakshi Sinha) as ACP’s (John Abraham) boss and partner on the mission.
Seemingly, things start getting out of hand from the directional point of view from the very beginning. The action-chases start getting lethargic and also longer and longer. There are a few quirky elements added by the director but the dead-pan humor of John Abraham seems rather irritating. The location of Budapest is the major attraction of the movie with breathtaking aerial shots and picturesque landscapes but the downfall here is that the scenic beauty takes the viewer’s attention away from what’s actually happening story-wise. The Cinematography is something that should be applauded wholeheartedly as the city has been captured in its full glory but a little deviated from the film tone.
The video game like camera panning in the climax is another abrupt move which makes the final sequence seems like a whole different movie. Force 2 has a reflection of Mission Impossible, The Peacemaker and A good day to Die Hard but the blend seems missing throughout the movie.
Sonakshi Sinha looks underutilized in the entire movie as her role doesn’t let the feminist issues taken up in the movie, blossom well. Tahir Raj Bhasin, on the other hand, is someone to look forward to as he stands tall to John Abraham, who himself was the center of attraction with the action hero image.
The essence of the story is rather decent but the on-screen narrative didn’t work worthy and sadly made it a movie with more muscles and less intelligence. So, this was a short Force 2 movie review. Have you watched this film? Let us know through comments.
