Lassi star of Bhatt family, Alia Bhatt recently swoop to Singapore with Varun Dhawan for the shoots of their upcoming debut Badrinath Ki Dulhania and returned back on Tuesday to bring in mom Soni Razdan’s 60th birthday. Today itself she flew back again to continue the shoots for same.
“We might have a pooja on the sets and wear festive clothes but that’s it,” informs the 23-year-old actress whose fondest memory of the festival is making rangolis with her nanny. “I burnt my finger when I was six. I threw a sparkler and it landed on a bench. Since I didn’t want anyone to sit on it, I picked it up and burnt my finger. Mom consoled me saying the hurt would go away because I’d been good and saved someone else from getting hurt.”
Alia Bhatt’s upcoming movie Dear Zindagi is also featuring Shah Rukh Khan as her coach will show student-life and the young lad admits that she was really nervous while working with King Khan of Bollywood. “We did a reading together the day before our first shot on the beach, he likes to rehearse and so do I,” she says, awed by SRK’s ability to spread the love on the sets.
Her journey in the film involves four other men, played by Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi and Ali Zafar, but she’s quick to point out that she does not necessarily fall in love with all of them though they do influence her. She herself fell in puppy love when in the eight standards. “I dated him for two years. I was planning babies in my head and all of that.He was a little possessive and I learned not to let anybody tell me what to do,” informs Alia who truly fell in love when she was 16 and was heartbroken when the relationship ended.
She’s been in the news for her on-off relationship with Sidharth Malhotra Prod her on the recent breakup rumors and she states, “When were we dating to have broken up? Sid is still a part of my life and I do talk to him.” Reportedly, they are doing Aashiqui 3? Alia Bhatt sighs there hasn’t been much progress on the script since she showed the keen interest in the story. “But I don’t push anybody, whenever they are ready, we’ll take it forward from there,” she shrugs, refuting rumors that she’s doing Farah Khan’s next with Parineeti Chopra.
Once she’s back from Singapore in November she’ll move into her new apartment. “I needed more space. It’s not that I didn’t have it at my parents’ house, but you have to think of other peoples’ timings too. I always knew that at some point I’d move out with my sister. Shaheen and I always wanted to live together and we can afford to now,” she smiles, pointing out her new home isn’t too far from her current one because she didn’t want to be far away from her father, Mahesh Bhatt, and mom Soni.”When I told my father I wanted to move out, he was in denial for a while. He thought we were just going out to play. I don’t think he has digested it yet,” she laughs. “But I feel we’ll become closer now because we’ll value each other more.”
She didn’t want her house to be ultra chic with chandeliers and marble flooring as she lives in hotels most of the year. “My walls have exposed bricks and everything is a little washed out, my bookshelf and center table roughed out. I wanted everything a little undone,” she signs off.
