The new release procedure of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test(NEET) came as a tremor over foreign nationals who wished to come to India to pursue medical studies in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses as it was made impossible for them to get admission in the government and private medical colleges citing foreign students citing foreign students do not come under NEET system. Some of the private colleges apparently asked hundreds of foreign students to go away from the colleges by this week.
1. Foreign Students came to India either by an institutional quota system or by direct application procedure to private colleges.
2. According to the new procedure, only Indian nationals and Indians who are abroad are eligible for the NEET test.
3. The eligibility criteria for foreign nationals is not mentioned anywhere in the manner of working or modus operandi of NEET.
4. Tilak Silva, from Colombo says that his daughter Shenali, and many other foreign students are tortured by this tricky procedure of NEET and career of many foreign nationals is at stake as first foreigners cannot write NEET exam and also these students are compared to domestic ones and now where should we go because we are asked to leave the campus by this week and this may affect their education.
We all hope this newly released procedure will soon get modified and foreign students will also be allowed to pursue medical studies in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and also Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). Moreover, we all wish to see this pronounced change in this tricky procedure of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
