The Doon valley has added one more feather to its cap. Known popularly as The Education Hub of North India, Dehradun is known for its exquisite beauty and nature. Be it the lush green farms or the sudden rains once you spend few days of your life in Doon you are surely going to love it. The Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) of FRI locality has won the title of “Cleanest School”. In this competition, KV from all over India had participated and the one to bag the prestigious title of being the cleanest school was KV of our very own Doon Valley.
The school was adjudged the cleanest school as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission Initiative. And the school will be receiving the honors on 30th September 2016 in Delhi from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 52 years old school spread over a vast area of 15 acres is a feast for the eyes. The lush green locality and the picturesque Forest Research Institute in the vicinity add to the beauty of the school. The school children have helped not only in maintaining the school neat and clean but also have decorated old walls with quotes and paintings. The school’s worth watching now.
On commenting about the award the proud principal of KendriyaVidyalaya FRI Mrs.Charu Sharma replied “When our prime minister can pick up a broom himself and spread the message of cleanliness, I feel we all need to get collectively motivated to contribute our bit. Since last two years, our school children have been actively involved in cleanliness drives and campaigns and have ensured the school premises remains polyethene free.”
The principal who is likely to be felicitated on 30th September 2016 at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi is happy for the acknowledgment of the great efforts made by her and her students. She further admitted the exhilarating feeling on being awarded the title of cleanest school in India.
