There is a good news in the air for the ones who are chasing to earn a seat in AIIMS in 2017. The current number of seats allotted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences is 72 for Indian Nationals and 5 to the Foreign Nationals for their UG course in India and now aims to add more reaching the count of 100.
Thanks to Mr. M. C. Mishra, Director of AIIMS who has announced and approved for adding more seats to this course. Even the Foreign Nationals get a chance to bag a seat for this course and might be allotted tentatively 7 seats from this next academic session commencing in 2017.
AIIMS began its journey in the year 1956 under the guidance of Rajkumari Amrita Kaur, India’s first Health Minister with its main center at Delhi and other 6 in Bhopal, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Raipur and Rishikesh and aims to reach 6000 beds in the upcoming decade for AIIMS.
It is the constant effort and dedication by each and every member of AIIMS (students and faculty) that has made them increase their seats from 77 to 100 for next year, says Mr. M. C. Mishra.
Masjid Moth and Trauma Centre by them too have being enhanced with 1800 beds to serve the aspiring students. Courses like MCh (Master of Surgery) and DM (Doctorate in Medicine) have already being amplified by 90%.
Dr. Sanjeev Lalwani, AIIMS Registrar mentioned no change will be applied for reserved categories and the regional centers won’t include any Foreign National.
The journey of 6 decades has to be a great milestone for the institution, its students and the best supporting facility without them reaching this new height wouldn’t have to be possible and that’s what made them the best over these years marking their diamond jubilee, said Mr. Mishra.
